Photography & Collage

I like to explore the medium and try to forget the rules, get rid of the fear of damaging the picture, the negative or the book.

I enter a process of poetic destruction that has no way back. The scissors cut the paper, cut the negative and the hands build something different. Cut as you do with fabric when you construct a garment, and then put together and sew. I mend, recompose my own piece, using the image on the negative as a pattern on a fabric, manipulating the image or the object and recompose a more accurate depiction of my impressions.

A great part of my work takes place in the process of research, outside, in the darkroom or in the studio. I love to spend time collecting images from various sources like old magazines and news paper, books or my own pictures. Those images through accumulation, repetition, superposition, transparencies, hide and reveal fragments guiding my imagination towards constructed narratives.
